CLASSES

We offer classes to our members to accommodate different skill levels and the prices are unbelievably low.  We currently offer the following classes:

Bead Weaving* - All it takes is a needle, thread, scissors, and some seed beads.  Nina helps you master stitches, such as Peyote, spiral, brick, netting, square stitch, Herringbone, ladder stitch, and right angle weave.

Chain* - Learn to make your own jump rings and put them together to create different types of chains.

Glass Fusing - We have our own kilns for fusing glass to make one-of-a-kind pendants.

Lapidary - In our Lapidary Shop, learn how to take a rough piece of rock, then slab, shape and polish it into a cabochon for jewelry or other decorative pieces.  We now offer both beginning and advanced classes.  All members are required to watch an orientation video before beginning work in the Lapidary shop.

Beginning Lapidary - Students in this class are expected to learn:

Your first rock will be provided.

Advanced Lapidary - To participate in Advanced Lapidary, students should have:

Faceting - Learn how to take a rough gem and facet it into a light-catching beauty to mount in jewelry you made.

Polymer Clay - This class is merely a guide to your own creativity.. polymer clay is a chameleon, with you in charge, changing and creating colors, textures and forms...limitless.  It is truly In Your Hands!!

Beginning Silversmithing -  Learn safety and skills in sawing, filing, soldering, piercing, polishing, and finishing in addition to use of the flex shaft, rolling mill, and stone setting.  This class meets once a week for 6 weeks.  There generally is a waiting list since the class is limited by the number of jeweler's benches. Contact Cindy Falandysz to get on the waiting list.  You must be 16 years or older.

Wire Wrap* - Learn wire wrap techniques to create rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, or wrapped cabochons.  Each student begins by creating an adjustable ring, which teaches you such basics as straightening wire, twisting wire, making coils, and binding wires together.  After mastering that, the choice is yours.

Tool kits are available for purchase from the club or bring your own.  Wire, for your class projects only, is also available for purchase during the first 30 minutes of class.
